Antique French Majolica Gooseberry Basketweave Dessert Plate

A charming antique French majolica plate featuring richly glazed relief-molded gooseberries with green leaves and yellow star flowers set against a warm ochre basketweave ground. The slightly irregular shaped form and vivid polychrome glazing are hallmarks of 19th-century French faïence tradition. A lovely display piece or addition to a collection of antique botanical ceramics.
